Fictional field study sketches. Featuring the some of the first creatures you will see. The game focus more on discovering and learning more about the creatures then just fighting all the time.
We plan on having a journal where you can read a page about each creature you meet throughout the game.
These are some out-of-date scenes from the game.
We decided to go with a newer style for the first planet, and also some of the perspective and scenery is a bit off.
Still we didn’t want them to go to waste, so we wanted to show them to you! Enjoy!
A preview of the card matching mini game. Mini games can be found in the arcade, where players can earn coins to buy stuff.
We wanted to keep a simple flat style for the mini games, that way the games load quickly and smoothly. Backgrounds, animations, and cut scenes will stay fully colored and detailed.
Here are is some old concept artwork of the first creature you meet. This creature has no name, and Nepta has no idea what kind of creature it is, so it is up to you, the player, to name him.
When Nepta crash lands his ship onto the Astride 3899, he discovers an egg that soon hatches, and Nepta being the first person the creature sees, follows him and protects him from other creatures.
The further you get into the game, the more you find out where this mysterious creature came from and what it is.
Say hello to all the creature elements!
You have your basic elements, water (which will include ice, bubbles, snow elements, etc.), earth (grass, leaves, things in nature), fire (plasma, sparks, flames), ground, and electric.
Then you have radioactive and robotic.
Radioactive are creatures who have been exposed to high radiation and have obtained special powers.
Robotic types are the rare robot creatures that you will have to build. Robots are not catch-able, and are extremely hard to obtain due to the high domain of robots. There attacks consist of small lasers, guns and other fun stuff robots can do.
Q: When does the game come out?
A: The first part of the game comes out this August. The game will not have the full story integrated yet, but will have the first part of the story. All planets will be completely explore-bale, with secrets and collectables.
Q: What devices will the game come out on?
A: The game will be playable on most Apple and Android devices. We will release a tablet/HD version of the game once we get a little farther.
Q: How many monsters will be available when the first part of the game comes out?
A: We will be releasing five catch-able creatures, one build-able robot, and of course your first creature you start out with. Unlike other creature catching games will we not give you the chose between three creatures to start out from, everyone starts out with the same creature, and also this monster is a one of a kind, and wont be catch-able in the game. He/she is also a big part of the story.
Q: What is the battle system like?
A: The battle system is a turn based battle system kind of like most creature fighting games. The monster attacks will all be fully animated. Each monster has three attacks, the basic, element, and their special attack. Each attack takes away stamina, so you wont be able to spam the special attack button. There will also be different types of creatureselements that are better then others, like how water is good against fire monsters.
Q: What is the basis of the game?
A: Universe Lost is a creature catching/adventure game. You play as main character Nepta. You will be able to explore and travel to new planets, discovering new monsters and more part of the games story.
